About DIET Pathanamathitta
The diet was started functioning in 1990 and it was formally inagurated in August 1991 .A prestigious institutuon, the Government Basic Training School was upgragraded to the status of DIET. The district has made considerable progress in the area of Elementary Education and Adult Literacy since the establishment of DIET. The literacy level of the district is now above that of the state level .
The immediate goal before the DIET now is to acheive a substantial improvement in the quality of education through universalisation of community participation .Providing lifelong continuing education to adult literate is also amission to this DIET. Since its establishment , it is closer to the field realities and is alive to the educational needs of the district it privides al its man power for enuring quality ,competence and character among teachers.
